CSE 334 Project Description

Title:  “When the Musicians are Gone”

Synopsis: A similar idea to toy story, only with musical instruments. You’d hear the door close and then two instruments will come “to life” and start “conversing” with each other. (Likely, a viola and a cello or violin) Instead of words, they will communicate through the natural sounds of their instruments. The instruments won’t have faces, but will express themselves through more subtle movements. (Kinda like the pixar lamp and the pens from the demo reel) The scene will end upon hearing the door creak open.

Objective: To use 3D animation to anthropomorphize musical instruments. The instruments won’t have faces, but I’ll use intrinsic features about them to bring them to life. (The f holes will act as eyes, the bridge as a nose, and the neck as a human neck.) The audio will be computer generated viola and violin/cello sounds used to make a song.

Audience: Children and teens- especially those who enjoy music
