Phlebotomy Training Program

Stony Brook’s CLS Program presents a 6 week training program for those interested in becoming a certified phlebotomist. The program costs $1500.00 with a $50.00 application fee and a $100 for for BLS training, if needed. The program begins May 28th with three week on campus training and ends after a three week clinical rotation in July. A hallmark of a flipped classroom is that lecture material is delivered in an online format, outside of the classroom. Research on Periodontal Disease

The Department of Periodontology is seeking volunteers for a clinical research study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate a technique for reducing periodontal pockets. The study requires you come to the dental clinic for between 11 to 16 visits over 5 months. Research on Dental Implants

The Department of Periodontology is seeking volunteers for a clinical research study to evaluate an Over-The-Counter (OTC) periodontal rinse for relieving discomfort rather than medically treating Peri-Implant Mucositis. Research on Stress during Pregnancy

The Mind-Body Center is seeking volunteers for focus groups to help us better understand how stress affects pregnant women and how we can help women cope better during and after pregnancy. CafeNova – new venue for high school students interested in academic careers

CafeNova is a new project from the founders of SchoolNova at Stony Brook.
The idea of the project is to bring students from local high schools together with graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty of prestigious institutions such as SBU, BNL, and Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, all in an informal setting.
