Last year, the SUNY Faculty Senate sent a resolution to the SUNY Chancellor recommending SUNY become GRE free. The resolution follows a movement away from the use of GRE scores for admissions. Mini Byte: Drive File Stream
Drive File Stream is a file syncing tool from Google that allows you to store files in the cloud and work on them as if they live locally on your computer. You can stream files that are shared in Google Shared Drives (formerly called Team Drives) as well! Scenario one: Edit spreadsheets with Excel that are safely kept in the cloud. Scenario two: Work on very large media files, that are shared with others, without having to download and reupload.

Fiber composites are attractive for various engineering applications owing to their excellent mechanical properties. One of these is their superior energy dissipation capability compared to other light-weight materials. An example where this can be beneficial is in structures that are meant for protection of army personnel and infrastructure from impact/blast loads.
