My name is Daniel Ericson. I am currently a first-year PhD student in biomedical engineering at Stony Brook University. In the past I have done research in the fields of acoustic droplet ejection for protein x-ray crystallography at Brookhaven National Laboratory as part of the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program. For my master’s thesis work at the University at Buffalo I synthesized and characterized three different types of theranostic nanoparticles for cancer detection and treatment. Currently I am working on examining the role of liver macrophages on platelet activation. If you are interested there are further details in the Research tab of this website.

Outside of the laboratory I spend my much of my free time playing the piano, the drums, and the guitar. In addition I am also an avid sketch artist.
