Participants and Creators

Stony Brook (and Long Island) is ideally situated to study marine sciences being bound by the Long Island Sound and Atlantic Ocean. This course will take advantage of the location and resources offered by the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. Students will explore marine habitats through field experiences such as: open water cruises aboard the R/V Seawolf, visits to the Southampton and Flax Pond marine labs, and local beaches and bays. Through these explorations, students will understand basic principles and concepts inherent in marine habitats and appreciate the marine environment.
