The Catholic Campus Ministry held its annual Midnight Run on Friday, November 2 bringing food, clothing, hope and friendship to the homeless of New York City.
The students’ spirit, compassion and enthusiasm brought smiles to some of the people who need it most.
Now in its fifth year, the annual Midnight Run program has helped hundreds of homeless people in New York City.
The Midnight Run, organized by the student-run Newman Club of the Catholic Campus Ministry, takes a lot of planning and preparing. Students collected and sorted clothing donations during the fall semester, grouping the clothes by sizes. Then they prepared food and snacks to share with the people they met.
Eighteen members of the Catholic Campus Ministry spent the night delivering the clothing, toiletries, blankets and sandwiches with humility and gentleness, treating each person they encountered with patience and respect.
