Design Brief

Documentation: For the persona I interviewed the students at a kendo session and took down their information to get a feel of who the general population of the club is and what type of people would be likely to be interested in the future.

For the palette I wanted to stick to colors traditionally associated with kendo, thus the black, navy blue and off white to match the uniforms and shinai weapon. The red was added as both a pop of color to the palette and also a representation of the country of origin of the martial art, Japan.

For theĀ  mood board, I collected images that represented the both the general aesthetic associated with Kendo and the emotions I desire to be invoked. This includes calming waterfalls, crisp and bold lettering and the tense spare scenes depicted.

For the Figma App, I wanted a simple and easy to navigate design where those in the club or even interested could find more information about it. This includes a home page that leads to an about us page, a tournament page which includes past videos, and a contact us page so that people could find out more or reach out to the e board for any questions they may have.
