User Personas
The kindergarten student with a school a group visits to the museum
Name: Max White
Age: 5
Education: Kindergarten
Computer/technology literacy: Max knows the basics of using an iPad
Technology Access: Max has access to a Personal iPad which also serves as his assistive device
Occupation: Kindergarten student
Special Needs: Max has some learning disabilities and is on the autism spectrum. He has a 504 special education plan and uses a wheelchair.
Their ideal experience: Max loves to read picture books. He is expecting an experience similar to the activities in his Kindergarten class. He also enjoys play-based learning. He has some difficulty processing information, so it takes longer for him to learn something new. He prefers the user interface to be simple and able to accommodate his learning style.

The mother of a family enjoying the weekend
Name: Taylor Ellis
Age: 25
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Computer/technology literacy: Taylor knows how to operate medical equipment. She also knows how to use the latest Apple and Microsoft products
Technology Access: Taylor has the latest iPhone, iPad, laptop, and desktop
Occupation: Trauma Center Nurse
Special Needs: None
Their ideal experience: Taylor’s family happened to check out the museum after visiting a nearby park. She doesn’t have a lot of interest in the museum but would like to tag along with her family anyway. She wants the user experience to be simple as she doesn’t want to spend too much time at the museum. She would like to get going as soon as possible as she has other things to do throughout the day.

The owner of a home improvement business visiting with friends
Name: Jaylen Torris
Age: 30
Education: High School Diploma
Computer/technology literacy: Jaylen knows the basics of using a PC and smart device. He has a yahoo email for business transactions but mostly prefers pen and paper.
Technology Access: Jaylen as the latest iPhone and gaming PC
Occupation: General Home Improvement Contractor
Special Needs: Jaylen had some learning difficulties while in school and had an IEP.
Their ideal experience: He wants to be able to learn more about the museum’s collection by using an easy-to-use touchscreen monitor. He prefers digital exhibits with more images than text

The retired man who enjoys history
Name: Justin Esiason
Age: 80
Education: Trade school
Computer/technology literacy: He knows how to use a Nokia flip phone. He also knows how to use the basics of Windows XP and the basics of Microsoft World. Justin still uses an old version of internet explorer to this day
Technology Access: He has a flip phone and desktop computer at home
Occupation: Retired carpenter
Special Needs: Justin uses prescription glasses and reads with a large font.
Their ideal experience: He would like to learn about the museum’s exhibits on a large screen. He also prefers audio in the user experience as he may not be able to distinguish colors on a screen.
