Icons

Remember that the main criteria of icons is simplicity, clarity, the ability to scale well, and recognizability…

Disclaimer for the “must be at least 512×512” requirement: As seen in the Google Drive folder, the icons are natively size 800×800 px.

The icons that I created use the gorilla from the logo as their background, rather than a traditional circle or square. This asymmetrical shape did make it a little difficult to both horizontally and vertically center the shaped, but I tried my best using the grid in my art program.

The pixel aesthetic is also from the logo and typography assignments, and the triangles in the home and arrow icons are the same as the triangle from the logo, just resized.

A small detail about the home button is that like the logo’s shape, the shape of the house is also based on a Chinese/Japanese character. This time, the character is 合: to suit/fit or to join/unite.
