Modified Version:
Since my resume icon looked too much like a save icon, I decided to add my “About Me” Icon onto the resume icon. This way, instead of implying save, it implies more that it’s about me. The lines in addition to that makes it look more like a resume. To make my “Project” logo look more like its functionality, I added “</>” to the front of the folder instead of the original. This implies more that its a folder involving coding. Along with that, I added something that can imply a window, a terminal, or a programming window, all involving programming.

Rationale:
First, I decided on what kind of icons to design. Since what I’m working on is a personal website for hiring managers, what I would need to display on that website would be information about me, how to contact me, my experience/resume, and projects. Along with that, there has to be a home button to return back to the beginning of the website. Thus, I decided on designing five icons in total.
The central theme with all the projects so far (Logo and Typography) has been the network/digital lines appearing somewhere in each of the designs. Following that, each of my icons must also somehow incorporate those. The icons themselves that I designed are pretty simple and straightforward; the home icon looks like a house, the resume icon is a piece of paper, the projects icon is a folder (a folder of projects), the about me icon is a person, and the contact me icon is an envelope. In order to turn them from a typical icon into something that represents more of my brand, I decided that a good way to incorporate those network lines would be to use them as an outline of each of the icons. For the icons that could be outlined with a single line (home and about me), I simply ended the lines with the two larger dots. For the icons that required more than one line (resume, projects, and contact), I connected the lines in order to make it seem like the network lines were branching off.
As for the choice of colors, I chose the two colors that have also been a reoccurring theme in my brand, a lighter and darker blue. I used the darker blue as an outline to make the shape as a whole stand out and the lighter blue as a fill. I felt that it would be a better fit than if I outline with the lighter blue and filled with the darker.
