Game Synopsis –
Succulent Planter is a casual, stress-relieving game where players can cultivate and collect various colorful succulents. This game can be played at any time for as long or as little as the player wants each day, as long as their succulents are watered and given proper sunlight. Players can check up on the growth of their plants, prepare for propagation (growing new succulents from leaves, cuttings, or offsets), sell their full grown varieties, trade to discover new forms/color variations, and customize their gameplay from succulent pots to window scenery.
Audience –
This game is geared towards students, hence the stress-relieving nature. Additionally, it can be played on the go or whenever there is a little bit of downtime. Students who like games involving collection and customization will also enjoy Succulent Planter.
Gameplay –
The start screen shows the three instances players can interact in: home, inventory, and market.
The “Home” button will take the game to the succulent growing platform where players cultivate their plants in the pot by the window (level/game screen). This screen features two indicators at the top: sunlight and water level. Players want to make sure that their plant gets enough sunlight and gets watered at the proper time. Sunlight levels should be kept high. Water fully when the level indicator is empty. To control the amount of sunlight, the pot can be dragged left and right, in and out of the shade. The plant can be watered by tapping the water droplets button. Two other actions can also be taken: cutting and uprooting. The scissors icon allows the player to remove any available leaves or cuttings from the plant. The shovel icon allows the player to uproot a full grown succulent.
Tapping the three bars icon allows players to move back to the start/main screen.
The “Inventory” page will show uprooted full grown succulents and any leaves/cuttings. Tapping on the full grown plants gives the option to sell them. Tapping on the leaves/cuttings gives the option to plant (place on soil) them in the pot. The top left also shows the amount of currency the players has (in succulent coins).
The “Market” screen is very similar in layout to the “Inventory” one, except, here players can purchase leaves/cuttings from various succulents species. Also, customization parts can be purchased including different style pots, accessories for the soil, and various window sceneries/backgrounds. The final thing players can do in the market is trade: exchange one succulent color/form variety for a different one of the same species (a chance to get rare, exclusive succulents).
