I chose this client because it is a place that I frequently visit with a friend I’ve known since middle school, and we would eat and talk/catch up for hours. Since this place has a special meaning to me, I wanted to create a logo that represents not only what Prince Tea House wants to offer customers, but what it offered me.

A statement from Prince Tea House published in an online magazine said that the tea house is committed to bringing the best teas from France as well as hand-making desserts of the “highest taste and appearance”. They also offer a beautifully decorated, ambient space where friends, family, and couples can spend quality time.

I wanted my logo to represent this mission statement. I used the color purple because it has historically been a color of royalty. This color, coupled with the crown was used to symbolize the premium teas that the tea house offers. Then, to illustrate the ambient atmosphere and the gathering of special ones I included the yellow heart which also looks like a splash of tea from the cup. Finally, I used rounded shapes and a circular layout in the whole logo to represent the welcoming and friendly nature of Prince Tea House.

I included two versions of the logo: one that is simple and another that is more complex and detailed. Each one has its own functions. The simple one is easily scalable to smaller resolutions while still retaining its message. The detailed version is more fancy, and the cup represents the intricately designed porcelain tea sets that the tea house uses.
