Logo Variations

Rationale

I made a couple versions of my logo design, but the main shape is a bunny head. The reason why I chose this animal is due to the WiCS mascot, Hopper, who is a robotic bunny. I had versions where it was only the head since that would make it easier for WiCS to place the logo everywhere, especially within a circle or a square for social media. I wanted to make sure that my logo was pretty simplistic in design and didn’t include that many details so that it would be easy to shrink down and blow up.

The design is mainly using lines. This was a stylistic choice since I thought it would make the overall design look cleaner and more elegant. I did include an opaque version anyway since they are easier to see and it would give WiCS more options to choose from. I also included a color outline to show how you can incorporate a range of colors to fit different events or holidays.

Since WiCS is a computer science club, I wanted the logo to have a tech theme. The lines and the circles that make up the outline of the bunny represent network lines and nodes. I also have a version that looks like a computer glitch. Furthermore, the mouth of the bunny is supposed to be the W in WiCS.

In terms of shapes, I chose circles and ovals to make my bunny since I wanted it to appear friendly and welcoming to the WiCS members. Circles also usually represent community, which is something that WiCS always tries to promote and cultivate. I even made the text rounded with this same goal in mind.

Finally, the colors were pulled straight from my color palette. I had blue and gray to represent WiCS’ authority as an organization, but I added yellow and pink to bring back some friendliness. All the colors were on the brighter side since those are more eye catching and optimistic.
