Back Story 

      • She is a public high school student attending school in the Queens area. 
      • She is applying for college applications soon and she needs to put in some volunteering hours to build her high school resume
      • She is interested in a medical career path and has been researching about public health science related extracurricular activities she could do to be involved
      • She was a public relations media head for her red cross club in school

Motivations

      • Katie want to make sure the organization she is joining is in person and has a lot of hands-on experience involved so that it is worth her time and investment
      • She found this website on their instagram feed when scrolling through for social media organization she can participate in
      • She hopes that the organization will provide evidence of volunteering hours or get compensation for her involvement
      • She wants to get a public relation role in the organization and be apart of the board

Frustrations

      • It is a very small-scale organization only specific in a local area. If she hasn’t scrolled that far, it is very hard to find such an opportunity available. There is not much promotion done to get the organization to be widely known.
      • There is no link available on the instagram page for the website. She has to search up the site herself to find it.
      • The logo is unprofessional and looks hand-drawn. She is skeptical of whether it will be a reliable and trustworthy organization despite the website showing a lot of information about the purpose of the organization
      • There is no information about the creator and the people behind the organization nor what the board member does. She is unsure if their credentials matched the organization’s purpose or if they shared common goals as her.

Their Ideal Experience

      • Make a more professional environment by updating their logo 
      • Promote the organization more through public exposure, collaborations and outreach
      • Provide photos of past events they’ve done to get a clear idea of how the organization runs
      • Provide links to forms and website directly on their instagram feed
      • Have a page specifically about the board of the organization
