Persona

Persona 1:

Age: ~25 – 50 years old

Location: New York or Florida

Technical comfort: Fairly knowledgeable on languages with languages often used for coding video games, such as C#, C++, Java and their respective gaming engines. (Unreal engine, Unity, Godot, etc.)

Job Title: Game industry recruiter/design lead

Backstory:

  • Is someone with years of experience in game design with a history of having worked on game releases that have had positive reviews, may have a franchise of game series or games of a genre that they specialize on, such as rogue likes or RPGs
  • Is someone who has worked on several teams and has had a positive review with them. Has worked well in a team environment and is known to be a good leader when working on a project
  • Is someone who genuinely loves video games and really looks up to them as well as other game developers.

Motivations:

  • That they are aware of who is the person that they are hiring, looking for some knowledgeable in the specific coding language that they work with
  • Ideally looking for someone well suited towards working as a team and that can be respectful, not to mention being able to read and interpret code properly.
  • Very likely to be looking for someone who has worked independently (or with a group) on video games. Looking for someone who has projects to show his skills

Frustrations:

  • Deadlines not being met on time for further progress and that could possibly cause delays on game release
  • User interfaces that are not user friendly, whether it be that they are too complex, have a horrible color scheme that makes it eye strenuous. Not to mention that if they are not easy to navigate they are going to be annoyed by that because less people will be inclined to use it
  • Lack of communication and information for projects. With this it should be included the importance of commenting code, so that the readability of it can be much smoother and avoid other people in the team to not struggle

Ideal experience:

  • Information is well sorted and clear, with easy accessibility to it when needed
  • Have some that is approachable and able to work with a variety of different teams in order to progress with the work, this would make the working environment better for all
  • Good work with other fields of expertise that are useful towards the development of the game (i.e., electrical and mechanical engineers for motion controls) so that it all mechanics run smoothly

Persona 2:

Age: ~25 – 70 years old

Location: New York or Florida

Technical comfort: Very knowledgeable on Excel as well as being proficient in reading data

Job Title: Finance management recruiter/Data analyst

Backstory:

  • Expertise in excel for being able to read and interpret data
  • Has worked for a long time on a company and has been able to date their success to them being the current position holder that helped the respective companies grow
  • Someone who has seen changes in the demand and has adapted to drastic changes in the economy

Motivations:

  • They will look for someone with advanced knowledge on excel that is able to work and help visualize the data more clearly and more readily accessible
  • They will be looking for someone who is able to interpret data and make guided decision with it
  • They will look for someone who like statistics and is able to gather more data from the original data gathered.

Frustrations:

  • Lack of communication and data
  • Poorly displayed data, certain data should be displayed in certain ways (i.e.. Percentages in pie charts, raw numbers in bar graphs, etc.) Also avoid using 3D graphical data when possible because it makes it harder to read
  • Having someone not be able to read the data or make constant mistakes from it that leads to an economic loss

Ideal Experience: 

  • Having the person be able to translate properly the data to make changes accordingly to help the business grow provide better to its public
  • Help with the growth of the company and be able to keep up to date with the shifts that we see on a daily basis
  • Be able to develop a user interface that makes things easier to navigate for its users and customers accordingly.
