Rationale for the decision:
To build this logotype, I used “Bookman Old Style” which is a serif typeface as this font gives a touch of old styled antique. As The Statesman has been a Stony Brook newspaper for about 60 years now, having this font really gives it that legible and robust look. The colorful typographies give the users more options to explore. I chose black and blue as the main shade of colors because they suggest power and elegance and is also one of the colors The Statesman uses.
