These characters are two of many unlock-able characters for a top-down view 2D mobile game.
The front facing stance is shown on the character select screen.
The game is a defense/survival game where projectiles are being launched at random at the player from off-screen. It’s the players objective to dodge or “swipe” them away.
The bottom views for each character are the ones seen while playing the game, one shown while standing or walking, the other while attacking or swiping at the projectiles.
The characters themselves are mostly cosmetic aside from their weapon; the sword can be used more often but the whip has a longer range.

The background colors represent a Rugby field and the yellow object at the top is the goal post.
Fonts used:
– “Manly Man Font” for the title and most numbers.
– “Steelfish” for most general text.
– “Swis721 Cn BT” for the pie chart key.

This gif takes after my logo design but has been simplified to make the animation clearer and easier for the user to look at.
Unfortunately it’s a bit slower while embedded in this site, however, it could be used in the top banner of a website or a loading animation.

These icons represent:
– Team roster
– Website home page
– Games schedule
– Merchandise

Throughout all icons is a variation of the shield used in the team logo.
Also, all logos have ‘missing’ lines as negative space separating parts of the logo to tie them all together.

Rationale:

This design is meant to target collegiate level rugby players and fans.
The font that “SBU” is based on conveys that this is a college-level sports team, as similar fonts are commonly used by colleges.
As rugby is a tough, full contact sport, the font used in “Men’s” and “RUGBY” is heavy and angular.
This is supposed to convey strength and masculinity.
Also, both fonts used have similar angled cuts on the corners of some letters which unifies the typography as a whole.
