Logo Design Rationale:

To represent the Stony Brook Computing Society in a logo, I centered the design on a simplified version of a computer, since the club consists of Computer Science majors and those interested in technical fields. The rounded edges of the computer and the ends of the circuit behind the computer add circles to the logo, which emphasize how SBCS is a community. The text message bubbles on the screen also affirm that message, since they convey that the members are interacting with one another. The black and blue colors not only match the colors that SBCS often uses in their newsletters and on social media platforms, but also evoke the idea that SBCS has authority. This is important, as SBCS holds many professional events that they would like students, professors, and company representatives to participate in and take seriously.
