Creating an eye-catching is important for any user interface. For Stony Brook Live I wanted to create a logo that clearly stated what this organization was about. First, I decided to used the Stony Brook shield as the base for the logo because they are Stony Brook University’s premier Jazz ensemble.  I then decided to replace the star on the shield with a trumpet and music notes because of the strong brass instrumentation of the group. Lastly, I removed two of the rays from the shield and replaced them with crossed drum sticks. The drummer is one of the most important members of any band and this helped add a pop of a different color because everything else is red and white. Below I have attached the logo in color as well as black and white.
