Back story:

• John was born in Michigan and moved immigrated to the Queens area when he was 30
• He met his future wife at a local coffee shop and eventually had three kids together
• He likes collecting stamps and watching baseball games

Motivations:

• John and his wife don’t want to cook all the time and enjoy helping out local businesses by ordering takeout
• The website would help them view menu options and find out more information (address, hours, pictures) about the restaurant
• The website would be linked to the restaurant’s Yelp account and can be easily searched on any search engine

Frustrations:

• The website can be too cluttered and that may reflect on the cleanliness of the restaurant
• The website can be lacking critical information that may prevent John from ordering properly or contacting the restaurant
• The layout of the website might seem unprofessional and so John might just order from another restaurant with a more aesthetically pleasing website

Their ideal experience:

• The website is ordered neatly so that everything can be found easily
• The website is regularly updated so that the menu prices reflect the current prices at the restaurant
• The website looks very professional and this reflects the food that the restaurant provides

• Maria graduated from NYU’s nursing school and has been working at the surgical center near the restaurant
• Maria has been commuting and working in this area for around 2 years
• She usually brings lunch from home but enjoys eating at local restaurants close to the her workplace

Motivations:

• Maria wants to see pictures of the food as people eat with their eyes
• Maria doesn’t have time to walk to the restaurant and wait for them to cook the food so the website would help speed up this process by having an online ordering system
• While searching for nearby restaurants on Google, New Yummy Taco was one of the first options and their website was linked as well

Frustrations:

• Maria doesn’t want to see a website with saturated colors on top of saturated colors as this hurts the eyes
• Maria wants a website that is mobile compatible since she usually orders from her phone
• Maria is easily annoyed by fonts such as Comic Sans and would prefer that the content of the website is semantically organized

• The colors on the website are compatible with each other so that it is easy on the eyes
• The website is well organized, formatted well, and looks sharp
• The online ordering system is functioning and the webpages aren’t dull
