Title:
“The Launch”
Synopsis:
A Saturn 5 Rocket is the tallest, heaviest, and most powerful rocket ever built. It is the most powerful machine created by mankind. This rocket helped get the Apollo astronauts to the moon the 1960’s and 1970’s. One minute after lift off, the Saturn 5 is already moving at super-sonic speeds. At the first stage of lift off, five engines blast the rocket to a speed that is 7 times the speed of sound. The third stage bursts it into orbit, as it heads toward the moon. The magnificent lift off shows how far mankind has come and how far we will go as we continue developing new technology.
Objective:
To use video, sound, and animation to illustrate an important feat accomplished by mankind. Audio will consist of launching noises.
Audience:
It’s anticipated that the audience for this piece would be young adults who are interested in art, physics, astronomy, or technology.
