The scene takes place in the girl’s bedroom with her desk, desktop monitor, books, and rulers. Her bedroom is checkered to give off that feeling of being trapped in confusion. I also wanted the lighting to focus more on the books section when Hopper skateboards in that area to give them the spotlight.

Meanwhile, since the lighting is somewhat behind the desktop and the girl would be sitting, it would give her a more darkened look to illustrate her depressed mood. In the end, however, she would be in the light with Hopper to show the change.
