Hello! My name is Benjamin Shu, and I am a senior at Stony Brook University!

I am currently completing my bachelor’s in Computer Science, with a minor in Digital Arts.

I love to draw and play video games, and I also enjoy coding in Java.

All three activities are elements of my personal and academic life, and I wanted to try and capture that in my self-portrait.

In an attempt to visually describe how all three come together in my life, I assigned each activity to a part of the RGB color scheme. I also assigned each a screenshot of some kind of program, as well as an individual shot of myself on or near a couch.

Coding was assigned to green, with a screenshot of IntelliJ IDEA for Java development.

Video games were assigned to blue, with a screenshot of Papers, Please.

Drawing was assigned to red, with a screenshot of GIMP 2.

To make the portrait easier to view, I “rotated” the color scheme for the background shots so that the individual pictures of me would stand out more.
