Project Description

334 Term Project Proposal – Jacky Chen, Jacky.Chen.8@stonybrook.edu

Title – “A Knight’s Training”

Brief Synopsis – Practicing reflection and visualization (mental imagery and shadow-boxing) are some of the ways to prepare for the outcomes of decisions in everyday life such that the neurons are ready to light up for any situation. For a knight, decisions and actions must happen in a split second so they cannot think and must rely on what they have learned and habituated in their body for combat. Therefore, by practicing techniques in preparation of certain actions, a knight can rely on themself for anything in the midst of war.

Objective – The project’s animation short will consist of one knight in full armor in a training grounds before transporting the scene to a blank canvas and another imagery knight (the same knight but in purple) appearing before it to which they would engage in combat and to which the knight would win with a decisive technique to which the background would transport to war-grounds and the knight defeating another knight the same way.

Target Audience (age, other demographic info) – Those interested in armed-combat, the Medieval world or those working to create works of art involving these topics
