This post contains the idea I will be using for the CSE/ISE334.01 term project:
Title: iPhone’s Teardown of Shame
Brief Synopsis: The goal of this project is to provide a brief overview over the different components, parts, and bits of what makes up the phones that users use on a daily basis. It will go over some of the main components and attempt to display the intentional design choices that phone companies have made in general to make their devices much more difficult to repair, service, or get into. We then would transition to some parts being highlighted while being taken out of the phone for a brief teardown. This project will be accompanied by commentary about the idea of repair for the devices many use on a daily basis.
Target Audience: Targeted for young people and people interested in understanding more about the right to repair movement. Also aims to educate most normal people about the different components that help their devices function properly and effectively.
