Character Sheet

This is Ava, she is a little girl in my story “Balloon”. To simulate this, I made her in a cute rounded style with a smooth texture. She is holding onto a balloon on a sunny day, when all of a sudden a sharp gust of wind tugs the balloon up into the air and away until it vanishes into the sky. The audience for this story are kids, so I want to keep the design simple and bright.

When creating her I used grids to keep track of her proportions. I also kept in mind how I might also 3D Model her in the future. As a result, This lead to me referencing 3D Characters I could find online such as:

I noticed, that many of the models were smooth and also very simple which works well with the theme I am going for. As someone, who is a complete beginner to 3D modelling, I also think that this style will be more realistic for me to produce in a semesters work.

This is Ava on a hill where she will be flying the balloon. I tried to give the clouds a fluffy texture by adding a few lines and darker colors in certain regions. To give the grass a little texture, I added grass and used a spray to give it a grainier texture. I also added Ava’s shadows.
