“Fly-through of the Pyramids of Giza”
Synopsis:
Have you ever wanted to take a step through one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World? The Great Pyramid of Giza is the most ancient wonder, yet it is the only one to still remain to this day. Two other pyramids were built afterwards in the near vicinity.
The Pyramids of Giza include three main pyramids, the Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. They were built for the kings or pharaohs that they represent from the 4th dynasty. The pyramids’ exterior was originally smooth white limestone, but as time passed on, the outer casing is almost completely gone, which reveals the core of the pyramids. That core, which is made out of yellowish limestone, is what we can see today.
Objective:
To use graphics, video, and animation to showcase the pyramids, and to describe its history along with fun facts about the pyramids, such as the heights, purposes, what’s in the interiors etc. Audio will provide background music. A 3D model of the pyramids will be built.
Audience:
The audience for this piece would be young adults, i.e. high school and undergraduate students, who are interested in history, architecture, and Egyptian culture.
