Title:
“A Lost Balloon’s Fate”
Synopsis:
Many balloons are accidentally released into the sky and never seen by the owner again. What they don’t know is that these flying objects can travel thousand of miles and usually fall back to the earth as litter, posing a threat to the wildlife.
This piece will follow a balloon’s trek across the sky, seemingly abandoned by its owner, forced to travel the direction of the wind and reach the fate of many of its similar peers.
Objective:
To illustrate feelings of abandonment and harmful effects of a released balloon through animation of a skyward journey. It is meant to invoke melancholy and perhaps even feelings of guilt in the viewer. The audio will mostly be occupied by a mellow track to accompany the journey of the object.
Audience:
It would be useful for anyone to view this piece so that “balloon pollution” is reduced, but this piece is targeted for children in elementary to young undergraduates, as an audience that is more susceptible to buy or use balloons, who are interested in finding out where they’ll end up.
