For my surrealistic selfie, I chose to put myself in a futuristic spacecraft exploring the far reaches of space. I chose this setting because I love science fiction and space exploration. I am looking at the camera, taking a selfie as a comet passes by in the window behind me. The spaceship consists of very warm red and blue lighting, giving a purple tint to its surroundings. In the image, I am wearing a NASA space suit with my helmet off, showing this to be a casual moment on my journey.

To put myself into the space suit, I used techniques such as masking. I used various filters to make the layers combine cohesively and fit the setting better. To enhance warmth from the lights on the spaceship, I used multiple layers of low-opacity duplicates to create a bloom effect.
