Client: SBU Food Pantry Focus: Social Media Outreach Attendees: Derek Widmer, Nitin Punn, Mei Feng Huang, Joycelyn Xian Meeting Location: Old Computer Science Lobby Meeting Time: 2:30PM-4:30PM Agenda: -Create you.stonybrook.edu website -Brief mission statement -Team photo -Outline team member roles and responsibilities -Determine roles for each part of the project -Outline goals and ideas for achieving each goal -Some research Set up group communication medium Minutes: -Nitin suggested using slack or google hangout for our own group communication and see which one might be more suitable for our clients. -Explored uses of the Slack App: -Create channels for specific task / events / meetings -Connect google calendar to better manage events -If inventory is low, automatically send alerts to a specific channel that can include the volunteers / management through slack and then allow them to click a button to order more of something. Questions: -How can we help promote their instagram page? -What types of posts on instagram would you want us to make? -Would the Food Pantry be interested in using Slack? Milestones: -Nitin created an outline for the technology assessment. -We finalized our mission statement. -Mei created a website and included the group's information, team photo and mission statement at https://you.stonybrook.edu/339foodpantrysm/ -We also created a list of things that we want done by the end of spring break: To Do: -By the end of break, have concrete ideas for each of our goals. -find a program that allows you to input words into a template so that it might be able to automatically create flyers -figure out how to create the automated e-mail / notification system -research functionalities and other applications on slack (check inventory bot)
