Current End-User Infrastructure:
Hope For Youth provides employees with computers operating on Windows OS as well as iPhones to accomplish workplace necessities, such as logging information, email, and communicating with clients. Currently, staff who use their personal vehicles keep track of their vehicle’s mileage and the locations they have previously visited using MapQuest.
The current website in development will be maintained through WordPress. As long as the end-user has access to the internet, they will be able to access the platform in order to log their mileage remotely. In order to achieve fully functional and remote accessibility to improve convenience, the website will develop towards a mobile application which will be able to be accessed on iOS. Microsoft Excel and Access will be used as the database’s structure. FileMaker will be used to design a front-end UI that provides operational functionality with the Excel/Access database. A reference for how the mileage data will be tracked can be found at https://hi-voltage.com.au/blog/filemaker/how-to-calculate-distance-and-travel-time-using-google-maps-in-filemaker/
