Vision Statement

Motivation / Opportunity:

Why are you building this product? / What is the problem being solved?

An interactive campus map would highlight and connect the arts on campus and make it easier for students and visitors to locate / visit these spaces. The problem being solved is the difficulty in discovering the locations of all the different art exhibitions on campus.

Why not buy something off-the-shelf or use an existing open-source product?

Buying something off-the-shelf or using an existing open-source product would be an additional expense for the Zuccaire Art Gallery and would not allow for the amount of control and customization wanted for the project.

What is it that will set your product apart from others in the marketplace?

This interactive map would be different from others because it specifically targets students and visitors of Stony Brook University.

Problem Statement:

The problem of not having an easy and accessible way of discovering the locations of art exhibitions on campus affect student and visitors, the impact of which is a declining number of visitors to these exhibitions. A successful solution would be an interactive map highlighting and connecting the arts on campus.
