We got our 6 little fluff balls on Sunday, June 1. They were each under a week old, probably only a few days old. It has only been 10 days and they are getting huge! We weighed them on both Monday and Tuesday nights and each has gained between 1/4 to 1/3 an ounce. You can almost watch them grow. Check them in the morning and again at night and their feathers are longer and fuller and they are noticeably larger.

Chicken Coop

Each one has her own personality, and together they are all quite entertaining. They are extremely inquisitive and must investigate everything you do. If one has something, the rest chase her around to see what she has.

Our coop was delivered and muscled into place and within the next 3 weeks we need to build the attached run and get the coop ready to move our girls out to their new home. The plastic tote they currently reside in is shrinking rapidly and I think they will need to be moved from the tote in the tub to the tub. We’ll have to come up with some kind of screen so they don’t fly all over the bathroom!

We took a bunch of videos and I turned it into a little movie, our first 70 Acres Production! I’m asking for help from those in the know to identify the exact breeds we got. The more pictures I find online, the more confused I am. I’m just hoping none of these turn out to be roosters, cause, that is verboten in Brookhaven town. The only one I’m pretty sure on is the Brahman cause she has feathered feet.
