FAQs about the AAPI Mentorship Network (for mentors and mentees)
- Can students have multiple mentors? We’ll pair you with one through the program (though it’s a good idea for students to get to know other mentors).
- Can I request a specific mentor? Yes, you can, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
- Can I recommend someone to become a mentor? Yes, please send them the link.
- Can an alumni be a mentor? Yes, please share this linkwith them.
- What’s the benefit of doing it through the program? Connection through the program means that you’ll participate in an initiative to support AAPI students at SBU, make friends, get to know other scholars, etc.
- How many students do mentors have? We’ll ask faculty members to mentor 1 to 5 students, based on their preference.
- How do mentees and mentors report to the program? We’ll ask both mentors and mentees to complete a mentoring report toward the end of semesters. Additionally, mentors and mentees can check-in with AAPI Mentorship Network leaders if needed throughout the semester.
If you have any question as a mentor or mentee, please ask it through the Contacts tab.
