For our group project, we looked into the experiences of Chinese immigrants when they come to America for education. We wanted to answer how the two countries are different in terms of education, what challenges they face here, how they overcame them, as well as look into data regarding what schools they attend, the outcome of their education, and just how many students are Chinese. The topic is very interesting because at Stony Brook, there’s quite a lot of Chinese immigrants, including our group members Yixuan and Yichun. So we were able to get first person accounts from them to tell their personal stories. Overall, we hope to have a better understanding of Chinese immigrants in America.
