Charles Bonnet Syndrome causes visual hallucinations due to the brain’s efforts to accommodate vision loss. Hallucinations range from textured patterns to static manifestations of living things. Older people are more prone to be diagnosed because of their higher cases of deteriorating sight. Due to stigma, many cases of Charles Bonnet Syndrome are untreated. These hallucinations overlay the real world, making it difficult to do everyday tasks and personal obligations. It can be distressing and frightening when you have difficulty determining what is reality. I’ve produced and combined photos, including my living room, different textures, and deer. This collage allows you to experience what Charles Bonnet Syndrome may look like.
