I believe all kinds of media benefit our lives.

From camera obscura to DSLR, from Edweard Muybridge’s horse in motion to TikTok. Both photography and video had been through a long time development.

Photo like V-J Day in Times Square or Tankman, they deliver a message to people around the world. Moreover, it is an imprint of an era.

Videos are more complicated. Because you can show more content (increase the time, add music), you can easier tell a story. The floor of video is higher than photo.

Movie, considered as one kind of video, they can provide entertainment, chance to think, criticize some phenomenon or more simple, tell a good story.

 

On the other hand, they all contribute on the opposite way.

People use edited/photoshopped work deceive people for their own good. Sometimes it is hard for you to tell what is right or wrong. Most people will easily mislead by those pieces.
