Energy, Environmental & Biological Fluid Dynamics Laboratory

Welcome to the website of the Energy, Environmental & Biological Fluid Dynamics Lab of Professor Ali Khosronejad. On this website, you can learn about our research interests, capabilities, recent achievements, current and past research projects, and the computational facilities we utilize to make discoveries.

In our research team, we utilize our in-house machine-learning and numerical model, the Virtual Flow Simulator (VFS) code, to address a wide range of societal challenges, including, but not limited to, energy security, extreme flood prediction and mitigation, biological flows, and pollution transport in both urban and natural environments.

The research activities of my team are supported by over $6M in grants from industry and federal agencies. Some graphics and video animations illustrating the results of our recent research projects are available on this website.

Opening and Recruitment

We are currently seeking motivated candidates for the following positions:

  • 1 PhD student (Mech. or Civil Engineering) with an outstanding track record in machine learning, numerical methods, and fluid dynamics.
  • Undergraduate students (junior or senior level), Summer research projects. The students (US citizens or Green Card holders) will be paid for their participation in summer research activities.
