Computational Facilities

We have our own High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster, Zagros, housed at the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences of Stony Brook University. The Zagros cluster has execution and compute nodes that are connected by low-latency, high-throughput local interconnects (InfiniBand). It has 76 compute nodes and a total of 1216 cores (3.06 Gigahertz Intel X5675 with 6GB RAM/core and QDR Infiniband). The storage system for the clusters is an 80TB Lustre-based storage system with distributed metadata servers (MDS) and object storage servers (OSS), all connected via an InfiniBand network to handle the high I/O needs of the codes.
