About Me

Hi! My name is Alex and I am currently a fifth year Biomedical Engineering student at Stony Brook University. Recently, I graduated with my B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from SBU (pictured on right). I am now pursuing my Masters of Science, and I plan on graduating in May 2023. After that, I am hoping to pursue my PhD in either Biomedical Engineering or Physiology.

My current, and hopefully future, work focuses on the vasculature. There are so many avenues to exploring the vasculature, which is what makes it so exciting to me. Whether it be fluid mechanics, physiology, drug delivery, or biochemistry, there is something for everyone. My past and current work examines the behavior and formation of RBC aggregates, which we also term “rouleaux”. If you are interested in looking over the beginning stages of my research career, you can find more detailed information on the Research page.

Outside of being in class and in lab, I somehow manage to keep a fulfilling social life. I am an incredibly avid reader, and tend towards fantasy series. My all time favorite is Lord of the Rings, and will likely never change. I am currently reading The Dark Tower by Stephen King. I also have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. This Spring I am planning on going to Death Valley, and this summer I want to hike the Grand Canyon. I am above average in German, I can speak it decently but my reading is a little slow sometimes.
