Cardiac Pacing Presentation for UF CCP Class

As part of my continuing education through the University of Florida’s Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) program, I recently gave a presentation on cardiac pacing. I covered key topics, including the different types of pacemakers—transcutaneous, transvenous, and epicardial—and their use in critical care settings for managing bradycardia and arrhythmias.

The presentation also highlighted the indications for pacing, such as post-surgery and severe heart block, and discussed the advantages and limitations of each pacing method. It was a great opportunity to apply my background in biomedical engineering and paramedicine to share insights on how pacemakers improve patient outcomes in emergency care.
