- This surgeon talks about his life and job experience as he is fighting stage 4 metastatic lung cancer in his mid 30’s but also how to die peacefully. He only has 2 years left to breathe. He died in March 2015.
- “Even if I’m dying, until I actually die, I’m still living.” Author wants us to cherish life as it is and find the true meaning of life.
- Even after being diagnosed with cancer he still worked and lived his life normally till he couldn’t anymore.

- The main character is a mathematical genius who has a mental illness. He (Nash) made an astonishing theory and discovery early in his career and later on made a self discovery. He has schizophrenia.
