- Used to constantly monitor arterial blood pressure, (SBP, DBP,MAP)
- Three main parts: hard rigid non-bending tube, soft wide tubing, the transducer.
- Roles of the hard rigid non-bending tube, soft wide tubing, the transducer:
- Soft wide tubing: Connects transducer to flush solution and to a pressure bag
- Rigid tube: Takes the blood to the transducer
- Transducer: Converts the mechanical pressure to kinetic energy, which is used to display the blood pressure
