Alternate Pocket Dimensions showcases a collection of works that share a fragment of each artists’ unique life experience. These experiences are built on subconscious and eldritch ideas that offer perspectives on our dreams, life stories, and mundane reality.

A connection among the work of Erika, Zhengnan, and Nicole is that they explore potential by drawing upon internal imagery. With the work of Rebecca and Nick, there is an exploration of nostalgia. The former paintings drawing on a process influenced by subconscious action and the latter use imagery of a bygone era. Self-portraiture is also explored in the works of Muyan and Lars; each artist presents a different transformed portrait. Among the work of Danielle, Randi, and Lillian there is an interest in superficial appearances. With Danielle and Randi’s work, there is an unraveling of surface forms that show reality’s fragility, but in Lillian’s work it unravels reality through removing media filters of the body. What these works have in common is their interest in sharing what their makers had discovered by exploring their deep mental recesses.
