Work Statement

As a child, my grandmother and great aunt had a huge influence on my life and for that I observed everything they did. They would draw flowers and shapes on my grandmother’s small grocery notepads while chatting with one another. As a result, I frequently sketched on my notebooks or scrap pieces of paper repeating the unique flowers and patterns they created to console myself. Now these same patterns appear in my paintings subconsciously to reconnect with my inner child that I have lost a bond with as I age.
