RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Internship with Robert Kallen from EnvivoPC                                          Summer 2018

Did research projects once a week. Went to Cincinnati and worked with Johnson and Johnson to teach physicians about the product.

Research on CP12 Fibronectin Derived Peptide                          Summer 2019-Fall 2019

Research with Dr. Richard Clark at Stony Brook University Hospital. Research involved examining biopsies under the microscope to determine if fibronectin derived peptide had decreased inflammation and increased re-epithelialization of burn tissue.

 

INTERNSHIP

Undergraduate Geriatric Internship Program                               Fall 2018-Spring 2019

Work in a primary care center. Help nursing staff, escort patients to exams rooms and take their history, perform cognitive exams on patients.

 

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

WISE Student Leadership Council (SLC) Executive Board                   Fall 2017-Spring 2018

Head of Fundraising on the SLC for WISE.

ITS 101 TA                                                                                                     Fall 2017

This is an introduction to Stony Brook class specific for freshman WISE students. Jobs included, graded papers, organizing and giving two lectures and acting as a mentor to the girls in the class.

BME 304 TA                                                                                                   Spring 2019

This is a genetic engineering class. Jobs included, holding office hours, organizing and giving multiple lectures on MATLAB, running 4 lab classes.

President of Stony Brook University Running Club                    Fall 2018-Spring 2019

Roles include, running practices, preparing for executive board meetings, delegating the executive board, planning trips to meets, planning/organizing club events. The club team holds practice 5 times a week and goes to 5-6 meets a semester.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Academic Success and Tutoring Center (ASTC) Peer Tutor            Fall 2017-Spring 2018

Work 5 hours a week as a calculus tutor (tutoring MAT 123, MAT 125, MAT 126, MAT 131, AMS 151). Level 1 and Level 2 certification.

CVS Pharmacy Technician                                                              Fall 2019-Present

Was recently hired, in the process of undergoing training before beginning work.

 

VOLUNTEER/SHADDOWING EXPERIENCE

Study Abroad                                                                                                Summer 2017

Studied abroad for 5 weeks in Tanzania, Africa. Took 10 credits abroad, with 6 credits being independent research. Trip included volunteer work. Participated in a 10-day medical internship at a hospital in Dareda.

Stony Brook Hospital Volunteer                                                     Spring 2018-Spring 2019

Volunteer in pre-surgical admissions. Clean stretchers, organize stock, assist nursing station, minimal patient interaction. Volunteer in outpatient PT. Make hot and cold packs, assist physical therapists in exercises, observe procedures.

Shadow Dr. Teresa Hubka Obstetrician-Gynecologist                             Summer 2019

Shadowed Dr. Hubka at her private practice in Chicago. Was able to observe annual visits, prenatal visits and some minor procedures.
