I have always believed that digital media play an important role in the development of modern society. For countries, large databases can help preserve history, and they can be used to teach more people about science and culture in the form of videos and photographs. That’s the value of documentaries. These precious videos and photos are easier to preserve and distribute than paper books. For individuals, videos and photos can help people better document their lives. For example, it’s like I don’t remember what I looked like or did when I was a kid, but my parents can show me pictures of me when I was a kid to help me to see the things I couldn’t remember.
Final Project Proposal
1. PROJECT TITLE Urban Decay in Cyberpunk
2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I want to take a series of photos in Chinatown at night and put them in cyberpunk’s colors. Although Chinatown is the place with the most Chinese characteristics in New York, it is very different from modern Chinese cities such as Beijing and Shanghai. Chinatown is more like a city of a few decades ago, with decrepit signboards and appliances. Many of the neon signs show that this place is more like Hong Kong and Tokyo, which are two most cyberpunk like cities in real life. It occurred to me that I can try to create a decadent and futuristic feeling with this particular hue, connecting the past and the future in a way that changes light and shadow. I will shoot at night, because the color contrast will be more obvious, and will have more sense about the hope in the dark.
3. OUTCOMES
- Outdoor , at Chinatown
- At night
- 7-10 photos
4. METHODS AND MATERIALS
- Will use photoshop to edit photos into cyberpunk tone, highlight red and blue.

He purchased his first DSLR at the end of 2015, after being encouraged by friends to take his photography further.
“One night it rained and the city came to life,” he says, explaining how the series began. “I got lost in the beauty of Tokyo at night. I was fascinated by how the city lit up and I just kept taking picture after picture.
