Artist’s Statement

I am from Peru and have been living in United States for almost eight years now. I am a business major and minor in art. I chose business as a major because I like to be involved in the sales market and would like to have a business of my own in the future. Since childhood, I was always interested in art. I made things with my hands , such as  embroidery, drawing and painting .  I selected art as a minor , which opened  another world to me. Ceramics especially is a medium where I can express myself and use many techniques. I do not only use my hands, but my whole body because it is a completely physical process in order to make a beautiful piece!

I usually make animals in clay because, growing up, I was surrounded by loving pets. Unfortunately, they remained  in Peru .

In the future, I would like to combine art and business. I hope to open a ceramics  studio  in order to teach the next generation about ceramics and continue its long history.
