Storing Ferret Rags

When not in use, all ferret rags should be stored as follows:

  • Separate rags based on types (similar rags stored together based on animal origin)
  • Rags placed in Ziplock or similar type plastic bags
  • All air pushed out of bags before being sealed and placed in a second sealed bag
  • All sealed bags placed together in a larger plastic bag (trash bag) with air pushed out and tied
  • All bags placed in -70C freezer until next use

When removing a rag for use, please remember:

  • Bags must be RE-SEALED with all air pushed out
  • Bags must remain in freezer when not in use
  • Check bags for holes; if seal is broken or a hole is found re-seal rags in a new bag, taking care to avoid contact with moisture from the freezer
