About Me
My name is Andrew Chen. I am a first year PHD student in Stony Brook University BME department. My previous research experience is mostly in the realm of microfluidics and its applications to drug testing and diagnosis. More information is written under my Research tab.
My current research interests lie in MRI imaging. After a signal processing course, I grew interested in how images are formed without opening the body. I was enthralled at the level of detail MRI images could capture with practically no side effects to the patient. In the end, I decided to pursue medical physics at the birth place of the MRI: Stony Brook University. Especially with the recent funding of a 7T and a 9.4T animal MRI scanner for Stony Brook University.
Currently, I am doing my first rotation in Prof. Tim Duong’s lab at Stony Brook Radiology Department.
Outside of lab, I enjoy playing and watching tennis. My favorite players are Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils.
